Home Care and Long Term Care chairs, often referred to as "Geri Chairs," are typically used in residential, assisted living or longterm care facility environments. Exceptionally comfortable and durable, geri chairs are conveniently mobile from room-to-room, and offer easy-to-clean surfaces. Common features include front-entry or side-fold activity tables, locking casters, and a footrest that typically folds completely under the chair.

 

We recommend that you consult the convenient "Functionality" details listed on each recliner's product page to make sure that the model fits your own unique needs. The number of Positions (ex. 3 Position recliner, Infinite, or Trendelenburg), Occupant and Caregiver Controls, and Table Configuration are likely to be very important in making your decision. You will want to additionally consider the recliner's Casters. For example, Four Swivel Caster (360 degrees rotation) models are the easiest to maneuver in confined environments. Where as models with Fixed Casters (point in one direction) on either the front or back (with Swivel Casters on the opposite side) require the caregiver to maneuver the chair forward and backward to precisely turn in confined space.

Clinical and Infusion Chairs (click to visit) can also be used at home. While their design and functionality are made especially for clinical environments, they offer exceptional comfort and often more postioning options than the standard 3-positions of a geri chair.
