Invacare's microAIR MA500 Alternating Pressure Mattress System with Low Air Loss reduces interface pressure to aid in the prevention and treatment of low to medium risk pressure ulcers, often referred to as "bed sores." This lightweight and easy-to-use alternating pressure mattress has 18 horizontally configured bladders that deliver 2-in-1 Alternating Pressure to help ensure protection against pressure ulcers. Low Air Loss function is provided by 7 center air cell bladders provide a mattress level cooling affect and help reduce moisture build up. The MA500 36"W x 80"L x 8" mattress with 5 LPM (liters per minute) pump system includes a Natural Heel Slope to help decrease pressure in the user's vulnerable heel area; Cell-In-Cell Design that helps prevent bottoming out in the event of a power failure; 8 Adjustable Comfort Settings; and more. *Bed in photos sold separately. My wife and I cared for her mother for ten weeks prior to her passing. This device was instrumental in ensuring that she did not get bed sores. In ten weeks of being bedridden she didn't get any bedsores or complications. It created peace of mine for us. There was no need to move her every two hours to preclude bed sores. The device was easy to set up and the instructions were clear. We had no issues or problems with the device. Now if it will only last 15 years for when I need it.

I have no complaints about the order. The problem was that before I could open the box the patient died. When I tried to return the item I was told that I had waited too long and that I could not send it back.
